To stay true to the spirit of the House, the J12 watch is only offered in a vibrant black or white, colors that Chanel herself considered "of absolute beauty." The new creation is made of ceramic, the only natural material capable of giving such intense brilliance to the black and white of the collection. Jacques Helleu also turned to several of his other passions to create the J12. He was inspired by the world of vintage cars, high technology and America's Cup ships, some of which are codenamed J12. The new creation will be waterproof to 100 and 200 meters depending on the model. The high-tech ceramic used to design the J12 is scratchproof, stainless and unalterable. Almost as resistant as diamond, this material borrowed from the latest technologies gives the whole a precious refinement and excellent technical properties. Following the success of the J12, Chanel has brilliantly developed luxurious versions of the model, as well as watch complications such as chronograph, tourbillon or second time zone (GMT function). The latest models are powered by the 12.1 caliber, a new automatic Manufacture movement exclusive to Chanel.
