Cases to protect one or more watches

A high-end watch requires to be protected in all circumstances when not worn, from dust, humidity, risks of scratches and shocks. Owning a luxury jewel also integrates an emotional dimension, and collectors certainly won't tell us otherwise. What a pleasure it is to take care of one's Rolex, Omega or Breitling watch once the evening comes by storing it like a treasure in a suitable case. Manufacturers, notably French, Swiss and American, have specialized in this market of watch storage, offering today a wide choice. This is the case, in particular, of KronoKeeper, Wolf, Dardel or Swiss Kubik, the latter specializing in rotating cases. Box for a leather watch or wooden case that can contain several watches, the choice is vast. A historic (and rare) Parisian house of gainerie, founded in 1895, Dardel is well known to collectors for its prestigious boxes that can hold from 5 to 12 watches, composed of a leather or lacquered wood exterior, a suede or imitation suede interior. Other cases combine carbon fiber and velvet, exotic wood and suede, steel and bicarbonate... Manufacturers show the same creativity - and know-how - in the creation of individual cases, which can be found in all shapes and colors. To each his own taste and style, the important thing remains the maximum protection of the watch.

Special marmots and cases for travel

This protection is all the more necessary during business trips or leisure trips. The case must then become nomadic, and there is a ready-made format for this: the carrying case, both functional and space-saving. Formerly used by commercial travelers as a sample box, it can be used to store one's watch(s), and possibly other accessories, before being folded and closed on itself. Its origin, as well as the noble materials generally used, give the marmot a touch of vintage elegance. Since a marmot can by definition contain several watches, the individual case is also a good solution. Vertical hard case, where the watch is positioned before being slipped inside, or horizontal case, softer watch pouch (bezel case type) or travel case with zipper, again many possibilities are available to the lucky owners of a luxury watch. Always check the interior - logically more important than the exterior since it is about keeping your timepiece in perfect condition: it should be flexible and fit the shape of the watch while holding it, in foam for example in a rigid travel case. Owners of luxury watches who travel with their watchmaking tools or cleaning products will need to ensure that the case contains a dedicated place, such as an inner pocket protected with a net.
