Lock bracelet and other iconic designs by Dinh Van
Bangle or chain bracelet, open or closed, the
Dinh Van collections inevitably recall the audacity and freedom of a jeweler of his time: Jean Dinh Van, who did not hesitate, in the 1960s, to break with the codes of jewelry to create precious and design jewelry to be worn every day.
In this regard, one of the best examples, and still a bestseller of the House, is undoubtedly the
bracelet Serrure. Jean Dinh Van was one of those who wanted to make the invisible visible, in this case the clasp of jewelry. In the early 1970s, he created a slender rush bracelet with a new clasp: he took the idea of a lock fastener whose head he flattened with a simple hammer blow. Thus stylized, the clasp became and remains today one of Dinh Van's
icons. The Serrure and Serrure Jonc bracelets come in yellow, white or rose gold variations, always with their embossed diamond as a closure.
Serrure is far from being Dinh Van's only emblematic motif. The Parisian House has thus constantly reinvented
bracelets Menottes, where the famous entwined handcuffs, symbols of love, friendship, bonding are worn on the wrist on a rigid bracelet or else on a chain.
The Diamond Cube, where the light makes the round diamond enclosed in an openwork cube even more brilliant, is not to be outdone. Depending on the model, two cubes can meet on an open beaded bracelet, reinventing the squaring of the circle, when a cube is paired with the elongated Dinh Van links forming a chain.
Women who appreciate larger bracelets can turn to the
Pulse bracelet, the latest collection from the House, or the
Seventies bracelet, a clever mix of roundness and taut lines, 750/1000th white gold and diamonds. A design that is also found in all-yellow gold cuffs, resolutely in the spirit of the 1970s.
Cord bracelets, a Dinh Van signature
With its cords, Dinh Van has invented a new way of wearing jewelry on a daily basis, and making the precious accessible. Razor blade, Handcuffs, The Diamond Cube, Impression, Link, Double Heart...: all of the House's iconic motifs can be found on these bracelets, as well as the choice of yellow, pink or white gold, and diamond paving. And this on models whose new price starts at 250€.
The cord also brings an undeniable touch of modernity to the
Dinh Van bracelets, for daily wear and if desired a game of accumulation to fully join the stacking trend.
The gold versions are still available in silver models, and we note in passing that Dinh Van is one of the only jewelers, with Tiffany, to work with this metal. It then becomes possible to wear the famous
pierced and hammered circle Pi for the modest sum of 220€ (new price), or 240€ for the Pi Black and White version imagined by Milan Vukmirovic.
