Hublot: the birth of the concept


Launched in 1980 by the designer Carlo Crocco, the Hublot caused a sensation with the unprecedented combination of two materials that everything seems to oppose: gold and rubber. This combination gave rise to the concept of "fusion", which broke with established codes by combining the noble with the ordinary. The year 2004 marked a major change for the company with the arrival of Jean-Claude Biver at its head. He relaunched the founding principle of the brand: "the art of fusion" became the guiding principle of Hublot, which was not afraid to mix materials. It was also in 2004 that the manufacture unveiled the Big Bang chronograph; its success was such that it received an award from the Geneva Grand Prix and became a best-seller for the brand, available in multiple complications.

Hublot rhymes with innovation
In addition to its innovative associations of components (gold-ceramic, tantalum-rose gold, titanium-magnesium...) Hublot has invested long research to propose new materials. Synthetic sapphire to form translucent and precious watches, ceramic with deep colors and unparalleled robustness, but also Magic Gold, an 18-carat scratchproof gold. Hublot has also been involved in partnerships for a number of years, particularly in the fields of sailing, golf, polo, skiing, motor racing, tennis and...soccer; Hublot is in fact the first watch brand to embark on the adventure of this popular sport, which has responded very well to this call. These partnerships have of course given rise to limited series dedicated to a particular team, athlete or ambassador, as have research and development initiatives.
