Leather, a prestige material for watch straps

The adaptable watch straps Cresus are brand new and suitable for watches of major brands, Rolex, Breitling, Chopard, Jaeger-Lecoultre or even Panerai. These bracelets are characterized by their elegance and quality, in black crocodile, black alligator with red stitching, or brown, gold, blue tinted calf leather... The strap remains an integral part of the watch and fully participates in its identity. Smooth leather or embossed leather, this material is preferred for the bracelets of luxury watches, and especially the classic, vintage or even sport-chic models. Cresus models, with their careful finishing, are sober enough to let the watch take center stage in a personalized combination. It is recommended to match the color of the leather with the color of the watch face. For example, the blue adaptable strap for Breitling watches goes perfectly with a Navitimer, a Breitling Premier Automatic B37, an Aviator 8 B01, etc. Beyond its decidedly elegant appearance, leather, whether soft or stiffer, is not only one of the noblest materials, but it also makes for watch straps that are particularly comfortable and pleasant to wear. Each leather band is tanned, dyed and stitched, especially to offer better resistance. With time the leather bracelet will evolve into a more patinated look and even more elegance, provided of course that certain precautions are taken.

What to check before buying a watch strap

Cresus adaptable bracelets come with a steel pin buckle, the most common buckle on watch bands. Before any purchase, it is essential to check the width of the watch's lugs. As the name suggests, the lugs (or lugs) is the space between the two lugs of a watch, which are the parts of the case that will allow the strap to be attached with a pin or bar. Their shape and length varies depending on the watch model and their width must actually be measured to choose the right strap. The most common lugs measure 18 mm or 20 mm on a classic men's watch, 22 mm or 24 mm on a sports watch such as a dive watch, with generally larger cases. For women's watches, the dimensions of the lugs are often 16 mm, 14 mm or even 12 mm. Special attention should be paid to some vintage watches, which sometimes have a 19 mm lugs between the lugs, including models from the brands concerned with Cresus adaptable bracelets. Once this parameter is checked, the bracelets with the standard length of 20 cm, are easily installed on the watches of major brands for which they are intended. It is nevertheless to follow the recommendations of the manufacturer, often detailed on the website of the watchmaking houses.
