Force 10, an iconic and customizable bracelet
The
Force 10 bracelet is undoubtedly Fred's icon, a world-famous piece of jewelry that has stood the test of time without taking on a wrinkle. It perfectly represents the soul and spirit of the Maison de la place Vendôme: boldness, creativity, energy the love of colors and light.
Force 10 was born in 1966, when the eldest son of jeweler Fred Samuel imagined a bracelet for his wife by braiding marine cables, affixing rivets to their ends and creating a clasp with a manila. Fred's jewelry expertise did the rest, the first
sports jewelry was born, intended for "those who envision life as an adventure to be led with style and panache."
Transforming sailor's elements into bracelets was a daring move, but with Force 10, Fred takes the boldness even further. The bracelets are customizable and interchangeable: a manila clasp in rose gold, white diamonds and black diamonds can complement a black or white cord. In steel, yellow gold or
white gold 750/1000e, bare, paved with diamonds or set with fine stones, the manila clasp goes with turquoise, orange, pink or even gray cordage. It can just as easily be placed on a bracelet with gold links.
So buying a
secondhand bracelet also opens the door to customization, as Fred sells cables of all sizes, in corderie, steel or gold.
Iconic collections, the story of a lifetime
Of course, the line of
Fred bracelets is not limited to just the Force 10 line. All of the House's jewelry collections come in bracelet form, including the iconic Pretty Woman, Infinite Chance and
Success.
The former is naturally inspired by the cult film, where Julia Roberts wears a choker designed by Fred. Success surprises with the combination of circle and square in white gold and diamond, or yellow gold and rose gold, bangles.
With Chance Infinie, Fred once again relies on the interchangeability of models, in the manner of Force 10, but with a different motif: the clasp represents the symbol of infinity, the lemniscate. Golds mingle with ropes, single, double or even triple turns, steel cables and precious chains to create
customized bracelets, to be worn alone or layered. Juxtaposition is another playful option offered by the jeweler in most of its lines.
Even fine stone cabochons
Sugar Bear clip onto white or rose gold beaded bracelets, one end of which is formed by a diamond pavé. Carnelian, chalcedony, topaz, amethyst or even lapis lazuli - some thirty fine stones in all -, it is here Fred Samuel's love for the colors, brilliance and light of beautiful stones that is told. Just as the
Bracelets Baie des Anges recall another episode in the life of the Argentine-born jeweler: the introduction into French jewelry and as early as the 1930s, of the Japanese cultured pearl.
