Possession or the birth of a legendary ring

Who of the woman or the ring owns the other? That's the question Piaget has been inviting people not to answer for the past three decades. In 1990, in fact, the Swiss jeweler, until then better known for its exuberant jewelry prized by the jet set of the time, created its first iconic ring, an all-gold model with a special feature: its central ring can pivot and spin when caressed with the fingertips. Possession was born, its rotating ring became a playful and ritualistic gesture, the jewel a talisman that brings luck and happiness. The success of this first Possession ring quickly calls for others, the range expands to necklaces, earrings, bracelets and even watches: Piaget imagines a luxury watch for women with a rotating bezel. Possession is again investing in the field of high jewelry, in 2019, with a watch with a dial and case entirely paved with diamonds and a "river of diamonds" bracelet. The Possession models will multiply through regular luxury jewelry creations, such as the three open yellow gold bracelets in the anniversary edition, in 2020.

Elegance in motion, a passion for color

To the rotating ring, Piaget quickly added the colored stones in its Possession creations. They are a true marker of the Swiss House and the jewelry, in addition to being playful and joyful is colorful. "Color," says Piaget, "is as vibrant as a musical note. It has the power to arouse emotions, to leave its mark on the mind and to seep into the smallest corners. Whether worn as a bracelet, earring or Possession Pendant, each precious or fine stone carries a meaning for the jewelry house. The green of malachite embodies Piaget's relationship with nature, the intense red of carnelian evokes the fascination, passion and energy of life, the blue of turquoise is a promise of escape. One of the people who best speaks to the importance of color and the Possession collection in general is undoubtedly American actress and model Olivia Palermo: "Possession is an expression of my mood through its colors, its infinite movement, its brilliant shine, its playfulness. It's a reflection of my personality.

A ring that evolves with the times

From the first ring in 1990 to the most recent variations, Possession by Piaget has come and gone, through the eras and styles. When the trend is stacking, the accumulation of pieces, Piaget imagines open bracelets with cabochons paved with diamonds and magnified with stones, for a new game, that of color association. Expressing one's personality in different forms with a single piece of jewelry, Piaget has been making this possible again for the past few years, with, for example, creole earrings that stand out and can be transformed into ear studs. The House's creative audacity goes even further when it presents Possession earrings in 18-karat rose gold, set with 28 diamonds and 4 carnelian stones, which can be worn in four different ways. From classic models to more contemporary creations, each woman can find the Possession jewel that suits her and makes the famous rotating ring her own. Or maybe it's the other way around...
