An iconic pattern, a classic that is constantly reinvented
Return To Tiffany is first and foremost a story of... key rings. In 1969 indeed, the American jewelry house launched a line of
numbered and registered key rings, inviting anyone who finds it (other than its owner, that is) to return it to the Fifth Avenue headquarters in New York. Beyond the "Return to Tiffany" concept, the design of the engraved heart plate becomes iconic.
Over the decades,
Return To Tiffany has become a full line of luxury jewelry. Earrings, necklaces and pendants, rings and bracelets are displayed with the heart plate or an equally engraved oval plate, among other variations. Purists of the brand will probably prefer, that said, the
silver jewelry since it was indeed Tiffany that was the first American company to institute the 925/1000 standard, in 1851.
Narrow or wide, the rings engraved "Please return to Tiffany" (as they were back then) are indeed always made of 925 thousandths silver, although models in
18 carat rose gold are now offered, when the two metals are not combined. The same is true with the heart signet rings.
A bold brand,
Tiffany & Co also doesn't hesitate to mix genres and especially collections, with, for example, butterflies, flowers and ladybugs from
Love Buds, a line inspired by urban gardens, stamped Return To Tiffany. As a result, he can pull out a ring with an engraved silver flower and rose gold ladybug, adorned with an amethyst.
Return to Tiffany, jewelry to accumulate and layer
This is not new, the American brand likes to play with contrasts and invite its customers to do the same: "Let your imagination run wild and combine our Return to Tiffany creations endlessly.
The ring and cocktail ring, then, but also the
cuff bracelet and a ladybug, flower or cuff link bracelet, in silver or rose gold, set or not with diamonds or fine stones. The Return To Tiffany bracelet range is also wide-ranging, though often featuring the
iconic heart motif on silver link or gold bead bracelets. The heart plate then becomes charming and the bracelets invite layering.
The
necklaces and pendants follow the same trend, of the heart or another pattern engraved as in 1969 on a chain of great modernity. The variations are varied, the classic heart associated with a second enameled heart in red, pink or
Tiffany blue is part of the reinvented models that also seduce by an accessible price. The pendant is sold new for 240€ in its silver version (1050€ in 18-karat gold). The
Return to Tiffany earrings are no more expensive, with the engraved heart plate worn as ear chips, in 925-thousandths silver, rose gold and 18-karat yellow gold versions. Again, there are multiple versions, as the iconic collection has been revisited over the decades.
