Predator 2.0, the legacy of the race car aesthetic

The Predator line perfectly matches the philosophy of the Swiss brand Rebellion Timepieces, founded in 2008 by Calim Bouhadra "an industrialist with a passion for watchmaking, high technology and motor racing: no compromise. Not on the design, which combines great complexity and unique personality, nor on the materials, and even less on the cases and elements. "This unyielding and passionate quest for perfection wins out every time: each timepiece is a mechanical marvel that offers extraordinary performance." While the Predator collection was born in 2011 with the Biohazard' version, the adventure continued with other models whose boldness is matched only by their technicality: Predator 3 hands, Predator, Predator Apnea, Predator chronograph... Then came the Predator 2.0 line, and in it the Predator 2.0 Regulator watch, which the Swiss brand defines as a double heritage: that of the aesthetics of racing cars obviously - Rebellion Timepieces is a sister company of Rebellion Racing -, but also that of watchmaking history. While displaying the house's signature powerful design, it is inspired by the regulator clocks that were once used to set the time in watchmaking workshops as well as in astronomical observatories.

Advanced watchmaking technology in a designer case

The Predator 2.0 Regulator watch takes the form of a dashboard on which two counters display the hours and minutes, complemented by a second hand. The 3D design highlights the date, when a fuel-like gauge shows the remaining range. Speaking of which, the watch's self-winding regulator movement offers a 46-hour power reserve, even when it remains stationary. In fact, this Rebellion model navigates between modernity and timelessness, without forgetting complexity. On its own, the 48mm-diameter modular case is made up of 63 pieces, in titanium, black DLC titanium, rose gold and compressed carbon - materials that vary according to the version. The dial is night-readable thanks to a SuperLuminova treatment of the hands and indexes. As for the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, it reveals the oscillating weight of the automatic movement, itself inspired by the rims of racing cars. This "special Rebellion" finish is applied to a Swiss Made movement that was developed exclusively for the brand by Télôs Watch, a La Chaux-de-Fonds-based company that specializes in designing innovative watch mechanisms. The balance frequency of the movement and its 248 components reaches 4Hz, or 28,800 a/h (alternations per hour). Finally, Rebellion opted for a vulcanized rubber strap with a folding clasp, with black paired with the watch's color. Predator 2.0 Regulator is indeed offered in several versions, where red, electric blue, yellow or silver-gray come in the original design of the timepiece. The rose gold version remains the most expensive, however, with a new price of €33,048. "
