Re-volt Rebellion

Re-Volt, a translucent watch inspired by the automotive world

The Re-Volt watch shook up the high watchmaking world in 2019. It was on this date, in fact, that independent brand Rebellion Timepieces unveiled its timepiece in a technicolor version. Produced in a limited series of 20 pieces on the occasion of Rebellion Racing's participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in association with Rocketbiz, the design studio behind the first Art Cars, the fluorescent-colored watch was "decorated" by the artist Tomyboy. "Flashy, bright, positive," the model relied on the codes of the Re-Volt collection: a square high-tech watch where the sapphire crystal plays with transparency when the skeletonized movement is a direct reference to the technical and stylistic audacity of automotive chassis. A Re-Volt Rocketbiz watch is certainly a rare gem. But before it, Rebellion had already brought skeletons out of the closet with the Re-Volt Skeletonized and its translucent case, which reveals an in-house caliber. The hand-wound mechanical movement is made up of 165 elements, for 48 hours of power reserve. Re-Volt Squelette perfectly embodies the spirit of the brand and its codes: technicality, lightness and purity of design. The material, titanium or titanium with DLC coating, also fits perfectly into this modernity. The translucent cases and bridges (just like the crown!) in synthetic sapphire are tinted with contour lines such as can be found on the bodies of supercars. Electric blue or passion red, even the colors are a direct reference to the automotive world. A design watch, the Re-Volt is nonetheless... a watch. For optimal time legibility in all conditions, the hands and indexes are coated with SuperLumiNova.

More and more daring models

The boldness, ingenuity, aesthetics and technicality of the Re-Volt collection is reflected in the following models. After the skeletonized watch, the Rebellion brand has indeed produced new models, including Re-Volt Sapphire, all-white, blue or red versions. More recently, Rebellion Timepieces offered a sporty evolution to the collection with Re-Volt Chrono, "bodied like a supercharged GT." The orange and black, red and black watch, also available with other colors and its rectangular case with aerodynamic lines unveil, this time, a Swiss Made self-winding chronophant movement. Water-resistant to 50 meters, it features the hours and minutes functions, of course, but also elapsed seconds, elapsed minutes and small seconds. The results can be read on a totalizer in the form of a stylized rev counter. Even the push buttons are shaped like gas pedal pedals: every detail of the Re-Volt Chrono embodies Rebellion's passion for motorsport. The materials reflect the watch, high-end, with a choice of titanium, black DLC titanium, forged carbon and even 5N rose gold on one of the six models for the case and dial. For the strap, Rebellion opted for vulcanized rubber offered in several colors.
