The origins of the Rolex Perpetual Oyster Date date back to the mid-1950s, five years after the introduction of the Datejust. Far from being oversized and sporty like more traditional Rolexes, its sleek, slender lines create simple yet chic elegance. Automatic and waterproof, the Rolex Date has a 34mm stainless steel case, a trio of central hands, a smooth or fluted bezel and a protruding cyclops to show the date, making it a happy compromise between the Datejust and the Air-King.
