The Tag Heuer Grand Carrera watch follows in the footsteps of the racing driver watches cherished by the Tag Heuer brand, a manufacture that has long cultivated very close ties with the world of professional motor racing. Tag Heuer was the first watch manufacturer to develop on-board chronographs for sports cars. Its creations mark out the 20th century: the Time of Trip model in 1911, the Autavia in 1933 and the legendary Tag Heuer Monaco in 1969... But the Tag Heuer Grand Carrera watch is just as surely the little sister of the famous Tag Heuer Carrera watch: designed in 1964 by Jack W. Heuer. The latter, heir to the founders of the brand, pays tribute with this timepiece to the mythical Mexican car race: the Carrera Panamericana.

This new Grand Carrera watch combines design and technology in an even more advanced way than the original 1964 model. It is an enhancement project that has emerged from years of research and development of watch and automotive technologies. The Grand Carrera has a number of advantages that make it such a benchmark. Its automatic chronograph allows to highlight functions such as small seconds or a second time zone. Its large dial allows an optimized readability for motorsports. But Tag Heuer's real revolution is the display mode: a rotation system inspired by the engines of GT cars, which replaces the traditional hands with a disc displaying the functional information even more clearly on the dial. The rotation system indicators are also one of the most impressive innovations of the Grand Carrera range, as they allow the user to read small seconds, a second time zone and/or chronograph time effortlessly, intuitively and instantly. This is the primary functionality of the pilot's watch: an ultra-fast display of time measurement functions!
