A propos de Dinh Van
Dinh Van, the wind of freshness
Dinh Van debuted in the independent world of designers in 1965 with the intention of creating jewelry that was not just ballroom finery but everyday wearable essentials. "At that time, decoration, sewing and even gastronomy had made their revolution, all taking a big step towards a certain simplicity. Jewelry, on the other hand, was still in the era of elaborate jewelry as in the last century. We had a vague feeling that women were expecting us to make jewelry that was easier to wear. We had to invent them.
This desire to shape a "modern luxury" pushed him to break established codes. Starting with the material rather than the sketch, Dinh Van plays with shapes by introducing the square in particular, handles the empty and the full and delivers collections that have become mythical. The Cube Diamond, created in 1970, takes up this duality, the Dinh Van handcuffs collection plays with the clasp which becomes the central figure of the jewel... but also the Lock bracelet, Seventies... Dinh Van tames simplicity and feeds it with ever more audacious models.
